Our SCM solutions addresses to four major scenarios that can be applied in many sectors and implemented individually:

1. Supply Chain Planning
2. Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment
3. Collaborative Order Promising
4. Sales Forecasting driven Inventory

Convergent Technologies is currently building the SCM module for the OEMs of Samsung Electronics India Information and Telecommunications (SEIIT) where Compaq, IBM and other OEMs can track their order status, accounts receivables, the marketing team at SEIIT can do a Sales Forecast and the production team at SEIIT can do realistic Production Planning and Inventory Management.

SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING

The Supply Chain Planning scenario covers the decisive area of long and short-term planning on a tactical and operational level within the Supply Chain.

The Supply Chain Planning processes include planning activities such as demand planning, distribution resource planning, deployment, production planning and detailed scheduling.

These take place in an integrated environment, where optimizing the relations in a supply chain offers a competitive advantage. The Supply Chain Planning scenario comprises the following main components:
  • Demand Planning (DP)
  • Supply Network Planning (SNP)
  • Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
COLLABORATIVE PLANNING, FORECASTING AND REPLENISHMENT

Relevant input from business partners can now be taken into account to synchronize planning across the network and generate optimized plans based on data from the supply network. Enterprises can now focus on enhancing customer value by enabling true business collaboration across business partner networks.

In this way, you can reach a consensus-based forecast, enabling both partners to streamline their work processes and ultimately benefit from more accurate forecasting, better market transparency, greater stability, reduced inventory and improved communication.

COLLABORATIVE ORDER PROMISING

This scenario includes real-time, global order promising, which checks the availability of finished products, components and resources in a matter of seconds. It also encompasses order management, including the creation of quotations, sales orders and bills, and even provides delivery schedules.

Global Order Promising commits order quantities based on actual stock, plans and allocations. It supports different sales strategies flexibly through global sourcing and product substitutions, and takes into consideration such network constraints as manufacturing resources and transportation capabilities. Allocations can be defined to describe the availability of finished goods, companies and capacities.

VENDOR MANAGED INVENTORY

VMI planning produces sales orders in the short term and reservations in the medium term. Before the orders are created, transport load-building algorithms in Supply Network Planning calculate optimized transport loads and ensure product availability. In Supply Network Planning, the user creates a VMI customer (both a ship-to and a sell-to customer) as a "location". This is networked with the rest of the supply chain using a transport connection. For planning purposes, a customer of this type is regarded as a distribution center or a production plant.
