Problem Definition
POSCO, the world's largest steel supplier, has embarked on an aggressive plan to maximize its operational efficiencies in manufacturing process management, CRM, ERP and SRM packages and its solutions as used by 13 subsidiaries. These packages needed to be integrated using an EAI solution.

Solution Framework
Fiorano Inc, US and WiNoble, Korea and Convergent Technologies together, will deliver POSCO’s next generation manufacturing management system. POSCO conducted extensive performance, scalability and reliability testing before selecting Fiorano Tifosi over IBM's EAI solutions. Tifosi's built-in extensibility and standards-based interoperability will help lower risks and costs for the overall solution.

As we jointly deliver the manufacturing process solution for POSCO, we are working closely with the other vendors' CRM, ERP, and SRM packages. Convergent Technologies looks forward to serving a wider base of customers with needs that mirror our deployment at POSCO.

Tifosi is a distributed Services Integration Platform that simplifies the composition, deployment, modification and debugging of business processes.

Unlike solutions patched together with several point-products, Tifosi is a distributed, peer-to-peer platform with a layered architecture comprising:

Tifosi Peer Servers: A Tifosi network comprises Tifosi Peer Server (TPS) daemons running on individual network nodes. Each Tifosi Peer Server (TPS) has an embedded micro-JMS server that offers flexibility in deploying peer-to-peer or hub-and-spoke architectures.
Tifosi Enterprise Server: Centralized modules include State Management, Security and Access Control, Versioning and Configuration Management, and Event-Control and Monitoring.
JMS Messaging Server: TPS daemons across the network communicate over a standards-based messaging-backbone. Tifosi works with any industry-standard JMS compliant infrastructure, supplied by default by the world's fastest, most reliable and scalable JMS server - FioranoMQ.
Management Tools: Tifosi includes tools to compose, deploy and monitor business processes both within and across firewalls. Tifosi tools include the Application Composer, Service Registration Wizards, Security, Event-Management/Monitoring and Distributed Debugging Tools.
Adapters: Tifosi ships with a suite of pre-packaged adapters and Fiorano-certified third-party adapters.
