Problem Definition
National Train Enquiry System is a reliable centralized information system, which provides Up-to-date and accurate information to the passengers regarding:-
* Arrival/Departure of passenger trains including Expected time of arrival (ETA) of trains.
* Platform berthing of passenger trains
* Journey Planning
* Facilities available at stations
* Railway Rules
The railway inquiry system was available to the user through Display Boards, Interactive Voice Response System, Public Address System, Face-to-Face Enquiry, CCTV. The technology boom has highlighted the problem area for the train inquiry system- the web interface. The need was to build a web interface which takes care of all the online train inquiry.
Solution Framework
Convergent Technologies has web enabled the Train Enquiry System to provide quick and accuarate information to the end user. The Online query system is built using Microsoft .Net framework and SQL Server as the databse.
