Problem Definition
Unicon is a financial services company that provides various investment solutions to its clients. The services include offline & online trading in equity, commodities, and currency derivatives etc.

In order to give an in-depth study of the stock market on a real-time basis, Unicon wanted to create a “Stock Market Analysis Application” (SMAA) that as a product would give a clear picture of the market in the form of real-time Indices and Scrip watches, integrated with real-time charts showing complete history. The calculated information shown is based on all the formulas that are internationally accepted by various exchanges like NASDAQ, NYSE etc. The application also shows information about all the corporate events related to any company in the form of reports.

Client-end solution
Server-end solution
Admin interface

The Client end solution is a web-enabled graphic rich desktop application developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and based on Microsoft .Net platform. It gives the end user an interface where he can do all his analysis using various features of the application.

Server end solution is implemented as a set of windows services that operate on live feed NSE/BSE data and performs calculations pertaining to all Indices and Scrips. The solution is based on the Microsoft .Net 2.0 platform and uses MS SQL Server 2005 with Microsoft Windows as the OS platform. The Server acts as a broadcast point sending encrypted and compressed information to all clients.

The Admin interface is designed and developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and is based on Microsoft .Net platform. It provides a graphical interface through which he can manage all the corporate events, indices, and other Meta information pertaining to scrips.
